Meet the Artist
Donna Zarowny
I have always loved art; creating it, observing it, and mostly how it makes me feel. As a young child I was enchanted with Disney animated movies, not because of the story line, but because of the art. Especially those with a forest scene.
The deep dark forest where the animals cautiously emerged into the light always meant that the story line was changing for the better.
That is where the magic lived, and I wanted to be part of that magic!
My goal as an artist is to create a series of art that is part reality, part fantasy, but mostly magic.

I consider myself an intuitive artist.
I often begin with just a loose idea, and a range of colours.
But once I start creating, I let the paint and the process
guide me, rather than trying to control the final outcome.
Perhaps a branch I painted might end up looking like a butterfly, and suddenly
my creativity is running away with that idea! There is no end of possibilities with intuitive creations. The end result is always unexpected, layered, and magical.
I cannot imagine creating any other way!
